Fairfax MagazinesFairfax Magazines publishes New Zealand's premier lifestyle magazines under the Fairfax banner. It is a relatively new division within the Fairfax group. New Zealand Growing Today and New Zealand Gardener were bought in the mid-90s along with New Zealand Fishing News, which prompted the launch of Fish and Game New Zealand. The acquisition of NZ Trucking followed and led to the creation of sister title, Truck & Machinery Trader.NZ House & Garden was launched in 1994 and quickly became the country's leading home title. A partnership with the publisher of Boating New Zealand led to full ownership of the title in 1997. In 1999 Fairfax Magazines won the contracts to publish Sky Television's Skywatch and the Automobile Association's AA Directions. In 2002, the division was given responsibility for publishing New Zealand’s number one circulating and most-read title The TV Guide, and leading equestrian title NZ Horse & Pony. In 2003 Cuisine was added to Fairfax Magazines’ stable, cementing the company’s position as New Zealand’s leading lifestyle publisher.
