New Zealand Driver
New Zealand’s love affair with the car is legendary. We have an extraordinarily high rate of car ownership by world standards, we buy and sell vehicles like we’re in a massive game of automotive
musical chairs and we have one of the highest per-capita rates of exotic-car ownership in the world.
In short, we live in a small country with a demanding road network and we just love using our cars to get from A to B – often with a fascinating side trip via D and R.
That’s what NZ Driver magazine is all about. It’s primarily concerned with the new-car market and unashamedly focused on New Zealand, albeit peppered with the most important international stories.
We’re proud of our publication and proud to cater to Kiwi readers. NZ Driver gives readers authoritative advice including in-depth road tests and multi-car comparison tests. But we also celebrate the mobility that the car gives us. Nothing contributes to the New Zealand sense of personal freedom as much as the car – and it really doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about a 20-year-old Toyota Corolla or a brand new BMW M3.

Audience
We all know the type. The mad keen fanatical person (most likely a guy) that lives and breathes all things petrol. They have grown up all their lives talking horsepower, car DNA and automotive genealogy to anyone prepared to listen. If they did find a soul mate in internal combustion to talk to then look out. This is our audience and it’s a big and influential one. Big because the car, despite everything, is still central to our lifestyle and
psyche. Influential because not only are they prepared to invest heavily in their own car ownership, they are the “go to” people in their circle of wives, girlfriends, mates or family that is sought out for advice and opinion.
NZ Driver talks directly to this group, and they listen.
