Audience
Although Pilot is a premium niche magazine, Pilot’s audience is much wider than this implies. The reason for this is Pilot’s unique content mix and the crossover between different audiences that this attracts. Pilot covers fashion, design, art, architecture, culture, green issues and more to a very high standard. Many magazines limit their potential audience by covering one niche only. Urbis is read by the design community, FQ by the fashion community, Art World by the art community. Pilot is read by opinion leaders in the arts, design, architecture, fashion, technology, advertising, education and beyond. Compared with local print media - Pilot provides access to the most exciting cross-section of NZ’s opinion leaders.
Pilot’s primary audience consists of urban
professionals, aged 20 to 50 with an even 50/50
gender split. This market represents NZ’s influencers and opinion leaders. Pilot is also targeted at the aspirational mainstream aged 16+ who aspire to align themselves with the Zeitgeist. They see Pilot as an authority on design, fashion, art and culture. Pilot is targeted at all those working or studying in the creative industries, including design, technology, fashion, education, business, and the arts.
